Why do we exist? As our motto says, we are striving to present every man mature in Christ. This is taken from Colossians 1:28 which says, “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ Jesus.”
This means that in all that we do we strive to exalt Jesus Christ. This is a Christ centered ministry, focused on helping the saints learn to purposefully walk with God so that they can please him in every way (2 Cor. 5:9), bring glory to God in all that they think, do, and say (Isa. 43:7), and to do it with great joy.
There are three groups we do this with: First, because people are hurting and looking for help, we see a number of people who do not yet know God. In this capacity, we serve as a evangelistic work. People are often at their wits end. They have tried doctors, and lawyers. They have sought out the “professionals” and not found help for their situation in life. Finally, they try the Biblical Counselors. “Perhaps I’ll find some peace and rest with one of those crazy Jesus people.” We give them a new Lord, and a new life. We give them Jesus, and he gives them rest and joy.
Second, Christians from all over the country, again because they are hurting, come to us for help with their problems in living. They are having marriage difficulties. Their children hate them, or their parents hate them. They are having strange things happen in their private lives. They don’t feel joy, or peace, or they are simply having trouble connecting with God. We offer Jesus and he gives them rest and joy.
The third group, are those folks who are generally doing well with the Lord and their fellow man. These people are focused on walking with God and have come to the place where they realize that they need to pass this relationship on to others around them. God continually brings people into their path who need help. They try to help, but they simply don’t know how. We offer Jesus and he gives them help to help.
If you fit into one of these groups, we exist to serve you and to help you come to Jesus in a way that helps.
