Each June Christ Church sponsors a classical music festival. Christ Church’s mission statement is “All of Christ for All of Life”–this includes the fine arts. The annual music festival aims to promote excellent performances of great repertoire, soli Deo gloria, and provide Christian musicians an opportunity to collaborate in a Christo-centric setting. The festival is June 25-28, 2026.

Thursday, June 25 — 7 PM | Orchestral Concert (Free)
Guest conductor David Tedford leads Copland’s Outdoor Overture, the American premiere of David Canfield’s Concerto After Elgar (Ross Leavitt, saxophone), and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” David Canfield, a Christian composer from Bloomington IN will be present to witness the American premiere of this work.
Friday, June 26 — 9:30-11:00 AM | Kids Instrument Zoo (Free)
Hands-on fun for kids and curious adults. Instrumental demonstration followed by a time to try out the instruments from local musicians. Bohnet Music Academy sponsoring. Last year 90 kids came out to give it a whirl!
Friday, June 26 — 7 PM | Chamber Music Soirée ($10)
Great date night! Patriotic desserts by Carolyn Wilson + festive adult beverages by Carmen Horner. Featured music: Carpenter’s Quartet for Stringed Instruments, songs with soprano Emily Schmitz, and Copland’s famous Appalachian Spring. Buy tickets here.
Saturday, June 27 — 7–9 PM | New-Music Forum at Vine Wine Bar (618 Main St)
Open to anyone interested in informal composition discussion with living composer David Canfield. Enjoy a few live performances of short works and buy a glass of wine to support our friends at Vine!
Sunday, June 28 — 3:30 PM | FINALE CONCERT (Free)
The community-wide choir and large orchestra join for our biggest concert of the festival! Hear patriotic works Carpenter’s Song of Faith and Dvořák’s The American Flag. Followed by a Red, White and Blue Dessert Reception on the patio.
Kids are invited to the free concerts. Share our cultural inheritance with them. Music Festival Palouse is for everyone.
